Request was to build a L28 engine – with a little more power than the stock 2.4L and to cleanup the engine bay.
Great 240Z to start with
Original 2.4L and 4 speed transmission
Removed the original components
Engine bay pre cleanup 2
Removed wiring and plumbing and sent to the blaster and painter
Donor 2.8L engine
Piston removal was challenging
Bottom end going together
2.8L Short Block
Checking clearences and installing ARP head studs
CC head to get 9.6 compression ratio – measured 3 times, cut twice
Installed cam boss shims to counter head milling
Set cam on center line
Installed weber DCOE and long tube headers
Lighter flywheel
Installation with 5 speed
Ready to plumb
Long tube header support
Custom mounts for electronics
Maintained fuel return system
Ready to go
